MI Institute offers online courses intended to train the next generation of MI educators and supporters. We offer introductory MI courses for early childhood through secondary school educators. Study Group coaches tailor their feedback according to each learners' differing levels of understanding of MI theory and practice, as indicated in their online posts and completed assignments. We also offer a short self-paced course for interested parents and caregivers.

MII Teacher Certification Practicum Program
The Teacher Certification Program offers a vehicle for educators to build, document, and receive formal recognition for their authentic MI practices. MI Certification candidates first complete one of two introductory certificate courses: MI in Early Childhood Education (MI ECE) or MI in Elementary, Middle and High School (MI EMHS). Successful completion of the introductory course is followed by the candidate's enrollment in our Teacher Certification Practicum Program, comprised of (1) an on-site practicum directed and guided by MII coach-instructors, and (2) candidate participation in practicum activities on the certification program website. Participants submit practicum assignments and documentation to coach-instructors via the site, where they also find required readings, discussions, and other practicum activities to complete.
Practicum participants develop, document and submit to the certification site their practicum work to demonstrate their application of MI "Keystone Practices", the MII criteria for sound and effective MI-based practices. Participants complete required practicum activities and submission requirements over a 3-5 month period, depending on their current level of MI and Keystones implementation. To earn MI Teacher Certification, participants must submit a final e-portfolio as guided, as well as satisfactorily complete all practicum assignments.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of an introductory MII certificate course
Note: This course requires a minimum of four (4) participants to begin. If there are not enough participants, your name will be added to the waiting list and you will be notified about the next available course.

This is the first time that I am working on an online course at the beginning I was very Skeptical... The Good News is now after a few months down the line I must admit, it is a great course and I AM ENJOYING IT VERY MUCH. MI is an Awesome Course and I hope more Educational Institutes will sponsor their staff to be more equipped with MI skills. It has opened new doors and is providing me teaching new teaching tools and techniques to help me add value to my teaching. |
